University of Scranton students inducted into Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology. Qualifications for induction into the honor society include a major or minor in psychology, rank in the top 35 percent in general scholarship, and superior scholarship in psychology. The University's chapter of the honor society was established in 1969.
A total of 182 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2017-2018 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher.

More than 3,000 new and transfer students began their higher education at Hudson Valley Community College when the fall semester began on Monday, Aug. 28.
The Royal Experience Summer Internship Program provides 16 University of Scranton students, selected from a competitive pool, a stipend of up to $4,000 to ease the burden of accepting a meaningful unpaid internship. The program is funded by the philanthropy of the University's Parents' Executive Council and the donations of alumni and friends of the University.
More than 300 new freshman and transfer students have been awarded merit scholarships to attend SUNY Oneonta beginning in the fall 2017 semester. The award amounts range from $1,000 to $8,000 per year.
More than 70 Monroe College students were named to the President's List for the Winter 2017 semester. At Monroe, the President's List is comprised of full-time students who have completed and excelled in their coursework, earning a grade point average of 3.80 or above over the course of the semester.
Fifty-two members of the Class of 2017 received Senior Service Awards in recognition of their outstanding commitment to volunteerism while at SUNY Oneonta. Students who completed at least 350 hours of service through the college's Center for Social Responsibility and Community (CSRC) were recognized during a reception on May 12.
SUNY Oneonta recently recognized 194 students who have attained leadership milestones through the college's LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) program. LEAD@Oneonta is a comprehensive leadership program based on current research and guidelines from the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
In front of a large crowd in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on a Saturday night in New York City, Ithaca College music students performed a special concert on the same stage where such famed artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman and Joshua Bell have played. Titled "The Exquisite Hour: MusIC of Love and Rapture," the April 29 performance featured the Ithaca College Choir, Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.
State University of New York has nominated New Paltz students to be included in the 2016 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
